Mission
The mission of the
Lutheran Home of Good Shepherd shall be to provide, in the name of
Christ, high-quality long-term care and other services and programs
which address the needs of the senior citizen and special needs
individual.
History
For over 40 years, the Lutheran Home of Good Shepherd has been
providing continuing care to older adults. Completed in 1964, the
Lutheran Home saw major additions in the 1970’s. In the mid 1990’s
the need for congregate housing arose and Heritage House with 16
apartments was added in 1994. In 1998 the Heated Garage and
Ambulance entrance was added to give comfort and care during
transfers in and out of LHGS. In 2000, a wing was converted into an
Alzheimer’s/Dementia unit called Angel Wing; and Westview Apartments
were purchased and upgraded. In 2001, a walkway was built, which
brought assisted living opportunities to Heritage House, and
provides a link to the Daycare Center, Chapel, board room and
Comfort Care Room which has been the Lutheran Home of the Good
Shepherd’s latest project completed in August of 2004.
