LHGS is looking for the right individual to work as a full-time Dietary Manger.  As a Dietary Manager, you would be required to obtain the Certified Dietary Management certification.  LHGS’s management team will provide the proper training and will support you throughout the entire process.  This position is 40 hours per week and will work Monday through Friday.  Occasional weekends may be required.

For those requiring the training to become a Certified Dietary Manger. 

  • LHGS will pay for the training and support you throughout the entire process.
  • The process to become a certified dietary manager is a 12-month course which is taken online through UND. See course Online Certified Dietary Manager Certification | University of North Dakota (und.edu)
  • Our dietitian would be the preceptor during the coursework period.
  • The Course consists of different sections
    • After completion of each section, you will be required to take 2 knowledge tests and one final.

The purpose of the Dietary Manager is:

  • The handling the supervision and direction within the dietary department.
  • The scheduling of dietary personnel.
  • To assure the dietary department’s compliance with facility policies and procedures in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • To implement policies and procedures of the facility and recommending change when appropriate.
  • The purchasing of food and non-food supplies for the department while conducting inventory and efficient product rotations.
  • To observe and assure that staff follow regulations of food safety and sanitation.
  • Make themselves knowledgeable of the proper infection control practices related to food and nutrition services.
  • Menu planning with the assistance of the dietary consultant/dietician.
  • To observe that proper cooking and serving techniques are followed.
  • To be able to assume the duties of any dietary position and assist with food preparation if necessary.
  • To obtain the required resident information to complete nutritional assessments and care plans in order to meet the nutritional needs of our residents.
  • Documentation of the resident’s medical record nutrition progress notes.
  • To plan, attend and participate in a variety of department and interdepartmental meetings.
  • To receive monthly consultations with a qualified Licensed Registered Dietician.

 

Salary Range:  Depends on experience and/or certifications.

Qualifications:

  • Must be a good communicator and sensitive to the welfare of staff and residents.
  • High school graduate or equivalent, formal training is preferred.
  • Knowledgeable of all food service processes.
  • At least 1 or more years of experience working in food service and have at least 1 or more years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Must have some basic computer skills, including scheduling and timekeeping software
  • Must possess a positive attitude and be a team player.
